• We care deeply about doing things the right way.

Our parent dogs are fully health tested, including genetic testing and OFA evaluations, and temperament matters just as much to us as health. We want our puppies to be loving, stable, intuitive, and easy to live with.

  • Our puppies are raised inside our home and guided through early development with intention. Through a structured, curriculum-based approach, they are introduced to everyday life, socialization, grooming exposure, and early crate and potty foundations.

By the time they leave us, they have already been gently prepared for the world they are stepping into.

  • We keep things small and intentional so we can truly focus on each dog, each litter, and each family that becomes part of our program.

When you bring home a Milk & Honey puppy, you are getting something that has been thoughtfully planned, carefully raised, and genuinely loved from the very start. And we are here for you long after go-home day.

  • From the moment our puppies are born, we begin intentionally shaping their early experiences.

Those first few weeks matter more than most people realize, and we take that responsibility seriously.

We follow a structured, hands-on approach inspired by programs like Puppy Culture and Badass Breeder, while also incorporating our own daily routines and standards we’ve developed over time.

Every stage has a purpose, and everything we do is designed to help raise confident, well-adjusted, and adaptable puppies.

  • During the earliest days, our focus is gentle, intentional handling and early neurological development.

Each puppy receives daily ENS (Early Neurological Stimulation) and ESI (Early Scent Introduction), along with daily handling exercises.

These small, simple interactions help stimulate their developing nervous system and lay the foundation for stronger stress tolerance, confidence, and overall resilience later in life.

At this stage, everything is calm, quiet, and nurturing just as it should be.

  • As their eyes open and they begin to explore, we slowly introduce more interaction and gentle stimulation.

Handling continues daily, and we begin incorporating our 10-step handling process to help puppies become comfortable with touch in all areas of their body.

This is where we start building trust and positive associations with human interaction.

  • This is where things really start to open up.

    Puppies are introduced to:

    • New textures and surfaces

    • Everyday household sounds

    • Age-appropriate toys and enrichment

    • Different environments within our home

We continue daily handling and begin building confidence through positive, gentle exposure to new experiences.

We also start early potty and crate awareness in a very natural, low-pressure way.

  • As puppies grow, we continue building on everything they’ve learned. During this stage, we focus on: Confidence building Independence Continued socialization Grooming exposure (including sounds and handling) Crate and potty foundations Around 6–7 weeks, we perform the Volhard Puppy Aptitude Test as one of many tools we use to better understand each puppy’s natural tendencies. However, we always remind families that puppies are still developing, and these results are simply a snapshot in time not a guarantee of future temperament.

  • Each day with our puppies includes:

    • Hands-on interaction and handling

    • Cleaning and maintaining a safe, structured environment

    • Exposure to normal household life

    • Age-appropriate enrichment and play

    • Gentle guidance and observation

We are constantly watching, learning, and adjusting to what each puppy needs as they grow.

  • By the time your puppy goes home, they have already experienced more than most.

They are not coming to you as a blank slate they are coming to you with a strong foundation, built with intention from day one.

Our goal is to make your transition easier and to give your puppy the very best start possible.
